PSV Eindhoven failed to build on their lead at the top of the Eredivisie but did battle back to snatch a 2-2 at Heerenveen thanks to Donyell Malen's goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

They lead Ajax, who host NAC Breda on Sunday, by seven points, but will perhaps be encouraged at having fought back from two goals down.

Finishes from Mitchell van Bergen and Michel Vlap in the third and 25th minutes gave Heerenveen the lead. PSV first struck in the 59th minute through Gaston Pereiro, before Malen took advantage of the lengthy stoppage time to secure a point.

Sixth-placed Heracles secured a second successive victory by thrashing Fortuna Sittard 6-0.

A sign of what was to follow came as early as the first minute, when Adrian Dalmau gave them the lead. When he scored again in the 51st the floodgates opened.

Jesper Drost added another in the 55th, before Dalmau completed his hat-trick on the hour-mark, Kristoffer Peterson extended their lead in the 70th minute, and Dalmau struck again in the 78th. The visitors sit 10th.

Vitesse resisted late pressure from Willem to win 3-2. Goals from Bryan Linssen, in the fifth minute, and Martin Odegaard in the 59th put them in control before Alexander Isak responded for the visitors just two minutes later.
