Dele Alli trains on Monday morning as he continues to recover from a thigh injury after missing the Panama game

Dele Alli took part in England's training session on Monday morning as he continues his recovery from a minor thigh injury suffered in the opening World Cup win over Tunisia.

The Spurs midfielder missed Sunday's 6-1 win over Panama that secured England's place in the last 16 with a game to spare.

Alli was the only change made by Gareth Southgate in England's victory over Panama with Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek his replacement.

None of the players who started against Panama in Nizhny Novgorod were part of the light session back at Zelenogorsk but those who came off the bench - Jamie Vardy, Fabian Delph and Danny Rose - were involved.

Manager Southgate led the session as England began their preparations for Thursday's clash with Belgium, the game which will decide top spot in Group G.

Southgate faces a decision on whether to use Alli against Roberto Martinez's side as the Three Lions look to seal top spot.

The 47-year-old said after Sunday's game: "Dele is progressing well.

"Obviously he hasn't had the opportunity to train on the field (on Sunday), he did a different sort of session.

"So, we'll know how close for the Belgium game he is after (Monday) I would think but we're pleased with the progress so far.

"It takes pressure out of the decision in playing him in that game, but if he's ready then it's also a good opportunity for him."

England's starters did recovery work at their Repino hotel on Monday, including right-back Kieran Trippier who was withdrawn in the 70th minute against Panama.

"Kieran was feeling a tiny twinge just towards half-time," Southgate said.

"But then came over and said he was absolutely fine but we weren't prepared to take a chance, so we got him off."
