Cristiano Ronaldo was far from impressed after being substituted by Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid drew at Las Palmas.
The Portuguese forward was brought off tactically for the first time in his seven-year Real Madrid stint, with the score at 2-1 to his side away at the newly-promoted La Liga side.
Lucas Vazquez came on in his place, but Las Palmas soon equalised through Sergio Araujo with six minute remaining.
Having won their previous 16 La Liga games before Wednesday, Real have now drawn two consecutive games, and are just a point ahead of Barcelona, who won 5-0 at Sporting Gijon on Saturday.
Zidane insisted it was no reflection on his performance but merely an effort to keep the Portuguese fit and fresh for the challenges ahead, with a game away to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.
"I did not take Cristiano off because he was playing badly, but because we play another game on Tuesday and he has to rest," Zidane said. "He was playing well, like the others, but I had to think about Tuesday."
